Welcome!

We welcome you to our traditional guesthouse 2 BE, located in the heart of Nafplio’s old town! We are two siblings, born and raised in this beautiful city, and spent 40 years living and working in the Netherlands.

Now, we are fulfilling our dream by opening a traditional family guesthouse in the romantic alleys of Nafplio’s historic center.

Our vision is to offer our guests a warm and unforgettable experience. Through communication, smiles, enthusiasm, and authentic hospitality, we aim to provide exceptional service. Our main focus is you, our valued guests.

Location of pension

2 BE Guesthouse is situated in Old Nafplio, at the heart of the city’s historic center. Its location is ideal for those who wish to explore the old town, as it is just a few steps away from the picturesque alleys and Syntagma Square.

From our guesthouse, you can easily wander through the pedestrian-friendly streets of the area, enjoy the cafés and shops, and visit Nafplio’s major attractions, such as the port and Bourtzi.

The area is famous for the bougainvillea adorning its narrow streets, creating a charming atmosphere. Guests can take a peaceful stroll through the flower-filled alleys while enjoying stunning views of the harbor and the sea.

2 BE Guesthouse combines the tranquility of a quiet accommodation with immediate access to the cultural and tourist highlights of Nafplio.

We look forward to welcoming you and helping you discover the beauty of Nafplio, a magical city we deeply love.

History

Nafplio, one of Greece’s oldest and most picturesque cities, boasts a rich history reflected in its unique architecture and monuments. During the Middle Ages, the city was occupied by the Franks and later the Venetians, who fortified it with structures such as Palamidi Fortress, Bourtzi, and other defensive works. Under Ottoman rule, Nafplio became an important administrative and commercial center.

During the Greek Revolution (1821-1829), Nafplio played a pivotal role as it became the first capital of the independent Greek state in 1829. The Third National Assembly was held here, and Ioannis Kapodistrias was appointed as Greece’s first governor. His assassination in Nafplio in 1831 was a significant historical event.

Nafplio evolved into a major commercial port and is now one of Greece’s most popular tourist destinations. The Old Town, with its cobblestone streets, neoclassical buildings, and traditional tavernas, attracts visitors from all over the world.

Wonderful pension in the old Nafplio for a two-day stay and more. The rooms are brand new, spotlessly clean and with a very nice environment. The owners and staff are kind and always ready to serve.

Nice hotel and comfortable rooms with air conditioning. Recently renovated and located in the center of the old town opposite the port. Run by 2 brothers who speak good Dutch and have a lot of knowledge about the area, such as historical hotspots and which restaurants to eat or not to eat at. Nafplio is a good/central base to explore Greece.

A beautiful and elegantly decorated guesthouse with good spacious rooms and beds. Quiet air conditioning and fans, good jet shower and an absolutely top notch breakfast. Beautiful location in the centre of Nafplio and close to the ports. Lots to see and do in town. In any case, there is more than enough choice of excellent restaurants near the hostel. The hosts are friendly and attentive. Recommended

We found this gem in the old town and we are so lucky to have done it. Amazing hospitality from Markos and Dimitris. The room was beautiful and clean, breakfast was delicious, perfect location and I can’t say enough about how friendly and welcoming the owners are. It was recently opened in 2025. The best bed we had during the 2 weeks we travelled around Greece. I look forward to visiting this charming city and hotel again.

We had an amazing stay in the pension in September. The room Klimt was very spacious and offered everything what we needed for a family with three children. We enjoyed wonderful breakfast with fresh fruits, pastry, greek yoghurt and a very friendly service. For people with Zoliakie there is glutenfree bread on demand. The pension is located in the heart of Nafplio with walking distance to all the sights, shops and restaurants. We will surely come back again!
